Desert Hikes, Tucson, AZ....7th to 9th November 2017....

Our RV Park is close to the Pima County Tucson Mountain Park and many hiking and mountain bike trails...we can walk out of our back door and head straight for the trails.....
This photo taken not far from our home....we are here for 2 weeks and planning plenty of hikes....
As majestic as the Saguaro are these Arizona Fishhook Barrel Cactus are our favourites....
Would you care for this dance or maybe a hug !!!!!
The Hanging Chain Cholla...
Yorkieman thinks it looks like  bunch of
haemorrhoids....ummm....
Thursday 9th November and we hit the trails with some of our neighbours, Elaine, John and Ada...
Todays 5.7 mile hike is moderate to strenuous up and down and around the base of Cat Mountain....
All Saguaro are protected although they are also farmed and sold for public and private gardens at a cost of hundreds of dollars....
An excellent example of a Crested Saguaro and quite rare....
Almost at the end of the hike and we are all feeling a little weary....it is above average temperatures for this time of year and set for record temperatures next week of 88/90F...
It was great fun to hike with others and to get to know our fellow campers better....
This "snowbird" park is one of the friendliest we have stayed at...
At the end of the day my Fitbit tells me I have walked 22,089 steps and the equivalent of 43 flights of stairs....yay time for some naughty crisps with pre dinner drinks....
Until the next post...
The Hiking Happy Hour Campers....
