Alamogordo to Deming to Tucson, Arizona...4th & 5th November...

Today we head west on US70 in a south west direction past White Sands National Monument and Missile Range and through the St Agustin Pass of the San Andres Mountain Range....
At Las Cruces we join the I-10 west to overnight in Deming, NM.....
It's the weekend and a good day for these lovely classic cars to be out....
Dust storm warnings as we head father west on Interstate 10 across the open plains of southern New Mexico....we have to remind ourselves that we are still at 2,400ft elevation......
Luckily today is dust free....
Those mountains are about 100 miles in the distance...still fascinates us even after all the miles we have travelled in a straight line over the past 6 years....
We return once more to Arizona....
Yay a curve....
Lunch sandwich stop at the Texas Canyon Rest Area....
Due to a rather poor road surface on the I-10 after we left the rest area and road works on the final part of the journey we arrived slightly jaded at The Desert Trails RV Park, Tucson to discover our site although large was not the easiest to back into but Yorkieman, with my guidance of course, did an excellent job and after a well earned beer he sets up camp for our 2 week stay.....we are hoping to soak up some warmth before returning to Blighty in a few weeks time....
Until the next post...
The Settled Campers.....

  1. Hi Sue & Michael,
Good to see that your parking skills are still as good as ever.
Are there king sized "car washes" around to clean off all the dust?
Always reward your selves with a beer or alternative when some tricky situation is overcome.
Met up with Richard on Wednesday we raised a glass to you both, whilst setting the world to rights.
Very frosty ,and cold this morning (17th) , but on the plus side sun shinning brightly.
    Enjoy.
    Cheers,
    Ann & Dave
