On The Road Again or Not !!!....20th to 26th September 2017..

Hi there blog watchers....
In advance many thanks for once again following the adventures and tales of life on the road with Yorkieman and Mrs Blogger......

Oops not quite the start we wanted but hey ho that's life...
After a great flight over the pond and an upgrade at the hotel (a first for us) we arrived at the storage in North Las Vegas the next morning and our darling truck wouldn't start....thank goodness for our roadside assist package...
Our new best buddy managed to jump start us (we had had visions of being towed) but recommended we went straight to the Chevrolet garage where we had a service booked for tomorrow and get the batteries checked....Service done and two new batteries fitted..
Arrived at RV Park our home for the next 4 nights and no electricity at our site but hunky handyman soon fixed that, meanwhile Yorkieman has found a new best buddy bearing cans of Boddingtons of all things !!  Over the next couple of days we stock up fridge and store cupboards and of course have a visit to Total Wine and More for grog supplies and we are ready to hit the road once again...
The first part of our road trip takes us north on the I-15 and once again through the stunning Virgin River Gorge...
From Nevada to Arizona and through the Gorge and into Utah...
Our Hawaiian Mascot is still shaking his bootie and happy to be in the words of Willie Nelson Back on the Road Again....
Oops....we left 80 degrees in Vegas and there's snow on them there hills !!!
Not liking the look of those clouds....there has been an early snow fall but our home for the night at Fillmore, south of Salt Lake City is cold but just has some lingering snow on roof tops...
Next morning and a lovely clear day as we head north again on I-15 to skirt around Salt lake City and join the I-80 East....
Oops as we cross The Rockies, elevation 9,000 ft, and thick fog descends but all ok...
And back to clear skies and sunshine and light traffic...
One of the rest areas on I-80 and time for lunch sandwich...
American White Pelicans....one of the largest north American birds that migrate to central America in the winter.....

I-80 into Wyoming and a night stop in Lyman....
It was very cold overnight, below freezing but sunny & bright this morning as we continue along the I-80....West Wyoming has huge resources of gas, coal & oil which fuel many large power stations....
Rest area for lunch sandwich and gathering more information on the area....
We had been wondering what the bush is that we have seen in abundance for the last 100 miles or more....it's wild sage or known locally as "Mama Sage" and is a mainstay diet for elk, deer, sage grouse, wild horses and mules to name a few...
And it would seem antelope....cue for a song....Home Home On The Range !!
Once more we are crossing the Continental Divide.....
We arrive safely at our home for 2 nights
at the Red Desert Rose Campsite, Rawlins Wyoming.... 700 miles towing and Yorkieman needs a well deserved rest day...Thick winter duvet now on bed as again below freezing....when we bought the 5th wheel many moons ago a selling point was the electric fire and in our innocence at the time we thought why would we want that !!!!
Until the next post it's nighty nite from
Yorkieman and Mrs Blogger....

  1. Thanks for the update Sue, good to see you are enjoying your trip. Weather is very autumnal here so the sunny photos and antelope are cheering but your need to use the winter duvet almost takes away the jealousy!!!!
